Home wellness equipment, curated by a professional athlete — built on twenty years of practice and the research behind it. Trusted by customers across the US, from first-time sauna buyers to families rebuilding their entire home wellness environment.
For twenty years, recovery
was just what you did to stay on the field.
Saunas, cold therapy, whatever kept the body going season after season. I never really thought about it beyond that. You did it because it worked and because everyone around you did the same.
From college soccer in the US to the Slovenian national team, and then a professional career across Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Iceland — every environment had its version of the same rituals. Heat, cold, rest. It was so embedded in how professional sport works that it never occurred to me to question it.
When I retired, I started looking into the research properly. And I was honestly surprised — not because the practices didn't work, I had felt that for years, but because the impact goes far beyond sport. Heart health, longevity, the quality of how you feel living in your body as you get older. This wasn't just athlete recovery. It was something anyone should know about.
If you want to read the science behind these practices, it's all in the Knowledge Hub.
Heart disease runs
in my family.
Growing up, sauna wasn't therapy or optimisation. It was just part of family life — heat, quiet, time together. You felt better afterward, even if you couldn't explain why. I couldn't explain it either, for most of my life.
I've watched people I love go through heart disease. And once I started understanding the research on heat exposure and cardiovascular health, it changed how I thought about everything I had been doing.
"A sauna at home isn't cheap. But neither are hospital bills. And neither is time you don't get back with the people you love."
That understanding is what made me build Marterra Elements — not just for athletes or for people already deep in the wellness world, but for anyone who wants to take better care of how they feel today and how they age tomorrow.
I built it because these practices
deserve to reach more people.
None of this is secret knowledge. The research is there — and we've made it easy to read in the Knowledge Hub. The practices are real. But most people are never pointed toward them, and when they are, they're met with a wall of products, conflicting claims, and no honest guidance on where to actually begin.
I spent a long time navigating that myself after retiring. Which products are genuinely worth it, which are just well-marketed, and how to fit it into a real home and a real life. Marterra is what came out of that — a simpler, more honest way in. Every product here has been evaluated against one standard: does it genuinely make a difference to how someone feels, day after day, not occasionally but consistently.
The things I won't
compromise on.
Not everything makes the cut. A shorter range of things that genuinely work is worth more to me than a wide range of things that sound good on paper.
These tools support — they don't guarantee. I say that plainly because I'd rather lose a sale than have someone feel misled. You deserve to know exactly what you're getting.
Your body doesn't experience heat, cold, movement, and nutrition in isolation. The results come from how these things work together — from the environment you build, not any single purchase.
Not a sales call. Just an honest conversation about your space, your goals, and where the biggest difference will come from.
