The stones in your sauna heater are not an afterthought — they are the engine of your steam. When water hits the stones, it is the shape, size, composition, and arrangement that determine the quality of your löyly. Rounded stones allow water to penetrate through inner layers and evaporate gradually, producing a softer, more enveloping steam rather than a sharp blast from the top layer alone. HUUM heaters are open by design, meaning your stones are visible. Using a mix of small and large rounded stones fills the basket cleanly with minimal gaps, functional and refined in equal measure. Olivine diabase composition delivers exceptional heat capacity and fracture resistance under extreme temperature variations.

Note: the HUUM HIVE Flow Mini requires 7 boxes. Additional stone sizes are available to layer with these for optimal fill and steam performance. Each natural stone is unique in shape and size.

Load stones into the HUUM heater basket before first use. Use a mix of small and large rounded stones to fill the basket with minimal gaps. For the HUUM HIVE Flow Mini, 7 boxes are required. Follow stone loading instructions in your heater's installation manual for proper arrangement and fill level. Replace stones as recommended by HUUM to maintain optimal steam production and heater performance.
